As of April 8th, 2014, Microsoft will no longer be supporting Windows XP. Those still utilizing XP after the end of life date are vulnerable for several security risks, including an elevated risk of viruses, malware and spyware, loss of compliance and the much greater risk of confidential information theft. Considering the sensitivity of the protected health information that home care professionals possess, these vulnerabilities should be evaluated with care.
GLMI does not anticipate any immediate disruptions in services or support issues to those running Ubiquity on Windows XP after April 8th. However, without Microsoft’s support moving forward, unforeseen issues may arise with future releases and GLMI will be unable to address any issue that is directly related to the utilization of Windows XP after the end of life date.
