This section lists a patient’s general financial information such as Primary and Secondary insurance and any insurance notes that accompany. Please know that this section only notes financial information and does not have any actual billing capabilities. This is simply an area for users to note the patient’s insurance companies as well as Collection and Coverage Notes along with their Recert Frequency.
Like all the new areas of the GLMI system, adding a new insurance is as simple as clicking the add button (found at the top left of the insurance list) and choosing an insurance from the Support File Look-up. You are then able to add the policy and/or group number and select whether the insurance is Primary, Secondary or Tertiary. Clicking ‘Save & Add Another…” then clears the form to enter another company if necessary. Users are also able to edit an existing insurance by clicking on the insurance company listed and selecting the ‘Edit’ button from the bottom left of the column.
Also stored within this section is the required Service Location (Q-Codes). Select the proper Q-Code by utilizing the drop-down function.
Q: I need to review the patient’s past insurance companies, how would I do that?
A: Simply select the (H) history button to review the listing of the patient’s previous insurance companies.
Q: I see the historical insurance listed, but how can I review further information?
A: When a past insurance is highlighted within the historical view, selected the ‘View’ button from the lower right of the column (or double click on the insurance) and any previously entered information regarding that insurance will be listed.
Q: How do I add a note regarding the patient’s insurance coverage?
A: Click within Collection Notes or Coverage Notes from within the Insurance Notes area to add any notes via free text.
